Yamba is situated in the North Eastern part of the Donga Mantung Division, in Nwa sub division. It is the bigest of the the three tribes in Nwa sub division with a population of over a hundred thousand speakers with a good number of speakers permanently resident in Nigeria. Yamba is bounded to the North by Mambila of Nigeria, to the south by Wibum, to the East by the Tikari and to the West by Mfumnte. Yamba is made up of 17 dialects represented by villages namely: Mbem, Nwa, Gom, Mfe, Ngung, Ntong, Bom, Rom, Kwak, Sih, Yang, Gwebe, Saam, Ntim, Gamfe, Nkot, and Faam
